Are You Compliant? NSPS Update

The NSPS number for Step 1 is 4.5 grams per hours. This covers all wood stoves, wood inserts, and pellet stoves. Retailers are no longer able to sell and distributors are no longer allowed to ship non-certified units as of Dec. 31, 2015 - including pellet stoves. Be aware of the manufactured dates and the certification information on the units you have or receive. All units currently manufactured that already pass the new standards will not have to be recertified. Keep those installation manuals close by. There is the possibility of EPA enforcement people showing up after the first of the year! Hang tags are not required in Step 1 but will be optional in Step 2.
